I was looking at a particular Cloth Diaper Brand's website. This diaper is a bit on the pricey side as it is a pocket diaper with a lot of great features. I am not sure if I am going to rat them out yet because I don't really want to be a jerk, so I want opinions first. I own ONE of their diapers, and I was thinking about getting more because I like it. But after reading some reviews of their customer service and looking at their website, I might not be buying anymore from them.
Their website is riddled with typo's and missing information. I've seen a letter from their customer service staff that was sent to a customer in regards to a defective item, and that was also riddled with typos. Their web site has said they they are "working on" certain areas for at least a month now, and still hasn't been updated. The typos are the killer though.
Here's the thing. To me, if you can't bother checking for typos, even in an email to your customer, it's like saying you don't really care about me as a customer. I'm not worthy of your time. We aren't talking one or two honest mistakes, we are talking easily 50 or more typo's all over the site! Every single aspect of the site has several typo's within it.
I think it looks very unprofessional. The fact is, if I was in a store, and I saw a product label with that many typos, I would probably put it down and not buy it. Cloth diapers are no different for me. In fact, I may be a bit more critical because I CAN'T touch the item first. I can't hold it, I can't see it, I can't do anything but READ ABOUT IT before I buy it! So if you don't care enough about me as a customer to do a simple spell check, then I probably don't care enough about you as a business to buy your product.
Can I get some opinions on this? Am I the only one that shops like this? Am I being too emotional about a website? Let me know how you feel! I really want to know!

I've never really noticed typos when looking for cloth diapers. I will add though, I do know how you feel. There is a cd I want to buy so bad, but the place everyone tells me to go and purchase it, is always down. It also isn't a very professional looking site. These two things make me weary of the site.
I agree, I have passed up a few online cloth diaper stores, just because their sites didn't look very well put together or user friendly. On the other hand, as a Graphic Artist for a label printing company, I might be too critical of web site designs and typos! Thanks for adding your input!
Oh by the way, which Diaper is it that you are looking for? The store I shop at faithfully might have or be able to order it. They haven't let me down yet! They even just special ordered an item for me that they don't carry. Such a great store :)
I know what you mean about wanting them to look professional. I think whatever you put forward on the internet is a reflection of who you are, and should be carefully managed. That said, not everyone is gifted in writing and computers, perhaps it is a really small company and all it's focus goes to the diapers? I'm really curious who you're talking about! (Following you from Cloth Diapering Bloggers.)

Hi Jennie! I sent you an email.
You're not the only one who passes up business because of typos--I'm an English teacher, so it's ingrained in me.
I've recently run into a website for a brand of cloth diapers that is also full of errors, and I'm wondering if we're thinking of the same one. I haven't heard anything about the CS, but I've heard rave reviews about their diapers. The website is very amateur in design, but the mistakes go far beyond just typos; I'm pretty sure the person who made the website is either an English as a second language speaker or perhaps not altogether fluent in English. Email me if you want and we can compare notes!
Hey, I make my fair share of typos too, but I'm not trying to sell a product! I design labels for a living, and I make sure that there aren't any typos. Then we have a proof reader check things over too. A website says a lot about a business!
Email sent Hannah!
I'm a graphic designer too, and I have to admit I let a company's website influence my decisions about whether or not to buy from them, especially if I can get the same (or similar) product elsewhere. For example - one site that everyone tells me to go to is in *Comic Sans* and I find it hard to read because there are few or no graphics. But... everyone says they are the best... I'm still undecided, hehe. :-)
Comic Sans! Oh nooooo! Haha! I'm pretty sure using Comic Sans in a website is a fatal error :)
