Converting Prefold to a fitted

I have been wanting to try fitted diapers for a while, but I'm not interested in spending the money on what is basically a prefold with elastic. So I thought to myself, "why can't I make my own prefolds into fitteds?" Sounds simple enough, right? A few cuts, a few strips of elastic and a little bit of sewing machine stitchery. Should be simple as that. So I set out to find tutorials about how to do this on-line and came across several dozen. Some were complicated, some were easy. Here's one that looks to be fairly simple, but effective.

So I thought I would share with those of you who are crafty and equipped with a sewing machine! Looks simple enough, even for someone like me, who doesn't even own a sewing machine, let alone use one!

I will be testing this out on some cheap gerber prefolds, before I go around cutting up my DiaperRite prefolds. I'll update this post when I get ahold of a borrowed sewing machine, and enough free time to get it done. If you have tried this before, please let us know how it works!

Here's the tutorial from another blogger:
